Park Entrances
Beaver Meadows
Best for Bear Lake corridor, scenic drives, families, first-timers; can be very busy.
Fall River
Best for faster access to Trail Ridge/Alpine, Old Fall River Road, and a slightly less crowded alternative; also nearest to Aspenglen Campground.
Wild Basin
Best for wilderness hiking to waterfalls and lakes, avoiding crowds; not suitable for RVs and requires early arrival.
Grand Lake (Kawuneeche)
Best for a relaxed experience, wildlife (moose), river walks, and accessing the park from the west; quieter even in peak season.
Longs Peak
Best for hikers aiming for Longs or related trails; a specialized entrance for wilderness use.
Lily Lake
Best for a quick stop, picnics, and short strolls with mountain views; extremely accessible and family-friendly.
Lumpy Ridge
Best for half-day hikes like Gem Lake and rock climbing; close to town, typically less crowded than the Bear Lake area.
East Inlet
Best for a short waterfall hike (Adams Falls) and access to remote west side lakes; very easy to reach from Grand Lake.
North Inlet
Best for waterfalls (Cascade Falls) and long hikes/loops; quieter west side trail, with good moose viewing chances.
