Geology & Ecology
Geological Features
Level to rolling prairie sits on the western edge of the High Plains. Old creek channels, irrigation features, and man-made lakes shape a mosaic of open water, wetlands, and shorelines, framed by distant Front Range views.
Ecology & Wildlife
Native grasses and shrubs provide habitat for bison, deer, coyotes, and prairie dogs. Lakes host waterfowl and shorebirds while raptors, including bald eagles and owls, hunt over open country. Seasonal blooms draw pollinators, and restored plant communities anchor soils and support diverse birdlife.
